Utility sink drain to floor drain?
I want to install a utility sink in my basement. It's a new house, no drain pipes near-by, but there is a floor drain near-by. What are the hazards of running the utility sink drain into the floor drain?

    Hey Scott,
What are the hazards of running the utility sink drain into the floor drain?
None at all if you terminate the sink waste in a indirect waste. You will not need a trap or a vent on the sink if you configure it that way. A indirect waste is a drain that terminates a inch or two above the floor drain strainer. There MUST be a air gap, you CAN NOT connect direct. Good luck, Tom
