I want to install a utility sink in my basement. It's a new house, no drain pipes near-by, but there is a floor drain near-by. What are the hazards of running the utility sink drain into the floor drain?

Hey Scott,
None at all if you terminate the sink waste in a indirect waste. You will not need a trap or a vent on the sink if you configure it that way. A indirect waste is a drain that terminates a inch or two above the floor drain strainer. There MUST be a air gap, you CAN NOT connect direct. Good luck, TomQuote:
