How can my Partner adopt my daughter?
I have been with my partner for 2 years now. I have 1 daughter and my partner is not her biological father but he has been in her life since she's been born. My daughters father wants nothing to do with her because he does not want to pay child support he has never seen my daughter. My partner wants to legally become my daughters father. How can my partner adopt my daughter?

2. Get a lawyer. 3. Make a good faith attempt to contact the bio father to have his rights voluntarily signed away. 4. If he won't voluntarily sign, you must prove unfitness as a father to have his rights severed. 5. File a petition to have your HUSBAND adopt. Your lawyer will know how to walk you through steps 3, 4, and 5. |
