My child's father has gone back to turky to live can my partner adopt him
My son is almost 4 years old his father is turkish and has never been bothered with my son since he was born, I've met a new man now and we have a child together and my boyfriend wants to adopt my son! I've recently found out that my sons father has gone back to turkey, he didn't tell us he was going or say goodbye to his son his name is on the birth certificate he pressured me to get it put on he said he wanted to be a good dad so I believed him and now he has left without a word can my boyfriend adopt him? He pays for him and looks after him my son calls him daddy and my son looks up to him he doesn't even know who his dad is I want what's best for my son. Can my boyfriend adopt him?

Yes your boyfriend can adopt, but I would wait until after you are married. However, you will still NEED to, at least attmept, to get his father to relinquish his rights.
Get married, then get an attorney to prepare the adoption petititon. The attorney will advise you what tou need to do to satisfy the court that you have tried to get the father to relinquish. |
