    Toilet vent
I am remodeling my bathrooms, I knocked out a wall to combine a smaller bathroom and a larger bathroom.
When I knocked out the wall I found the toilet vent that goes through the ceiling of the bathroom and out through the roof.
It is located about 8 inches from the outdside wall and I really don't want to re-frame the vent pipe with a wall since this would look kind of funny having an 10' wall sticking out.
I can access the toilet drain and vent from my garage.
Is it possible to turn the vent 90 degrees in the garage and vent out through the back wall of my house?
The total run would only be 10-12 inches.

Yes, with terminal restrictions. You can not locate under any door, window or AC intake. You can be within 10 feet of such a opening unless it's 2 feet above such a opening.
The terminal must be turned up and screened. Good luck, Tom

Looks like it runs straight up to an attic space (not a sealed space, outside air passes through at will) and not through the roof to the outside. The wall that it is in is perpendicular to the main wall to the room and I would like to...

Toilet Vent [ 3 Answers ]

After removing my toilet, I see that it has two openings, a 3" opening in the front (connects to the main drain) and there is a smaller opening in the back for venting. Is it a 90 degree heel elbow used upside down? Should this be corrected?

I am looking for a way to clean out a possibly blocked toilet vent. I have a drop in water in the bowl and when doing laundry, I sometimes get a gurgle and the smell of sewer gas. I am having the septic pumped and I also tries flushing out the vent with a water hose, not an easy task. Any...
