    Fraud over 5000
I have not been charged yet, but I need to know what to expect. I applied for a bank loan and changed my income status on my tax return. I did not get any money but there is an investigation in progress. The bank gave the police my tax forms which are photo copies and not the real ones. This is my first offence, will I go to jail.

Well at least a real crminal, was getting tird of those people who steal 4 dollars from walmart and are worried,

So who is doing the investigation, the local police or the FBI, the amount of how seroius it can be will be by who is investigating it.

But you need to hire an attorney now, and have them ready to step in if and when you are charged.

    Hello molly:

I don't think you'll go to jail. I don't know how they knew your tax stuff was phony. You probably told 'em. I wouldn't speak to them any more, and if they want to, you need a lawyer.

You sure set yourself up for a dandy headache. If you needed a loan that bad you should have played the game the legal way and not get so "creative" with your records. I am sure I don't have to remind you that you have learned your lesson on that subject. If you are being investigated, you are more than likely going to be charged. I would get an attorney and tell him everything so he can help you when they come and arrest you. Have your game plan ready to spend a few days in jail until you are arraigned and let out on bail until your hearings start.
