    Toilet running
I just replaced the inside of the toilet items about 2 months ago. It was working fine until a couple of days ago my toilet continues to run and won't shut off. Lifting the back lid the arm connecting to the float is still down and the float is not raising with the water to shut off the water. I just take my finger and lift the arm to shut it off, but I wan't it to function properly like it did before. What could be my problem?

If the rod and float ball lifts easy with just a finger but will not float up with raising water I would shut the water off and remove the float ball. If you can hear water inside the float ball then it must be replaced. Good luck, Tom

I'm not a plumber by any means... but I think there is a little screw at the side that can be adjusted. Edit... just checked mine it is newly installed and at the top of the arm there is a plastic screw that adjusts the float. It is visible as soon as you take off the lid. *edit*againOn second thought I see a plumber just answered... I'm sure he has better advice.

Toilet keeps running [ 2 Answers ]

I think I need to replace the 'float' system in the toilet. It appears, after filling, the float is not shutting off the water. I try to manually raise the float higher, but this does not work. While this is not a costly repair, could it be anything else?
