    12.5 briggs and stratton lawn mower engine
    Does the 12.5 briggs and stratton lawn mower have solid state ignition or does it have points under the flywheel? Thanks.

    Depends on the age of the unit. The first two numbers in the serial # on a briggs is the year. For ex. : 9900547882 would be a 1999 year model.
