Hi,
I've known my ex for about three months and we dated for about a month and a half. In the beginning, we had this connection, talked for hours on the phone about everything, we hung out a few times every week and we were both happy with each other... we had both agreed that we would keep ourselves (which is not having sex until marriage even though we both aren't virgins) because it was the right thing to do to make the relationship grow stronger... we both had a crazy past, did stupid things, dated the wrong people... so we figured that we would try to make our relationship like no other... sometimes I feel like I have a hard time trusting guys because it seems like it's really hard to be with someone who feels the same way. His actions were great and he said the right things and I knew in my heart he was genuine because usually I can tell if someone really likes me or not.

THE BAD

After about a week or two later after making us an official couple... we became affectionate and after that it became more and more affectionate until one weekend he spent the night at my house and one thing led to another and we had sex... after that we became more distant and we didn't talk about everything like we did in the beginning. It was just basically dinner,a movie, and sex at my house... and one night he was hanging out with his best friend and it was OK and I didn't have a problem with that except that he texted me earlier that day telling me that he was going to hang out with his friend and that he was going to call me later when he was going home... so it got late and I became worried that he might not call me like he said he was and usually he would respect the fact that I usually go to bed at a certain time because I go to work early the next morning. So I finally text him and asked him where he was and it's getting late... so he told me he was still out with his friend at a bar and he was going to call me at 12:30. I flipped out, said things I didn't mean... because I was angry and to this day I regret flipping out over that one little thing because me flipping out caused him to break up with me the next day... (which was the day before my birthday... :( )and the other reason is the fact that we allowed sex in our relationship... he also added that he needed time to get himself together, we can be friends, and see what happens between us in the future...


FINALLY... THE QUESTION...

What advice/steps/tips can I use to allow my ex to come back and start things over?

While, I think sex surely complicates things I don't feel that's your issue. You know you may want to contemplate about the chance that he may have lied about his virginity. He doesn't seem all that virgin like. You naturally felt you needed more attention from him and he didn't which is my basis. How do you know he was a virgin? Now about you, it seems you were a bit too needy. I understand he took your virginity but you have to give him SOME space. I'd like to add if you were his first I would think that he wouldn't break up with you over something's you SAID. Unless they were about his mother or really nasty or physically threatening. You must analyze what you said and whether it was serious enough to end the relationship. Before you do the "no contact" thing you should ask him what was it about what you said that hurt him so bad, you know just to never say it again. I don't know he sounds fishy though.
