    Intermatic has excellent site and help, They have 120 and 240 volt timers, you will see 2 little wires that connect to timer motor, that is where you connect line side, have neutral and hot in correct spot, out goes to sign. Neutral will not be switched.
    They also have one that is digital/with battery backup that keeps time during power outages. What timer do you have?
