    No hot water from bathtub
    Hi,

I do not have any hot water coming from the upstairs bathtub. Cold water is flowing fine and hot water is flowing from the faucet and in the rest of the house. I have taken apart the faucet to check for clogs, but do not see any visible problems. I drained the water heater thinking it was just a clog in the pipes but that didn't fix it. I tried taking the faucet out and putting a towel over the pipe with the cold water running for a couple of seconds, but that causes the shower head to come on. I have a one knob Moen faucet. Cold water flows nicely, but as a I turn the knob for hot water, a little cold water still comes out but no hot water at all. I would assume it's a clog on the hot water line going to the bathtub only, but I can't think of anything else to do. Help!! Thank you!!

I think you will probably have to change the cartridge in the moen faucet to stop the problem. But first I would like for you to try something, you will need some one to help you. Turn the water off to the house. Take the cartridge out of the faucet and then place a large bucket or something similar in front of the faucet while you have the bucket in place have the helper to turn the water back on for about five seconds. And then turn it back off. Now put the faucet back together and turn the water back, see if you have any water pressure now on the hot water side.
