    It sounds like when you put your car in park, but didn't quite make it and it moves with the pawl making a clicking or whirring type sound. Does this still sound like transmission and not the coupling? Jay

    Could be either. Easy to check the coupling but I would suspect the trans. Remove the cabinet so you can listen carefully.Posibably even the centerpost bearing
