I still can't get the hot surface ignition to start up after it tries to get it too

Check where the wires go to the board for the hot surface ignitor. During startup you should have voltage there. If you have voltage there then the ignitor is defective if no voltage present the hot surface control is probably bad.

Okay, voltage at the control board at HSI location. Dug into the area were the two burners are to see if I could take a better look at the hot surface ignitor. It took some reading glasses to see that darn crack. So, I went out and got another, and installed it. Cleaned the sensor too.

I had everything up and running just as it is supposed to. But, I look at the flames and there is some orange in the flame.
Blue and even at burner contact, but as it goes up there is some orange. I let it run a bit, and it is better - but still there.

I don't think this should be the case?? The flames stay the same blower on, or when blower is off.

Post a picture of what you are talking about with the flame.

The orange streaks you see may just be the result of dusty combustion air.
