Here we go . I've had this debate now for 2 days . Yes after the fact it was revealed that it was not intended to be a depiction of the Last Supper but instead some vague Bacchanalia . That is nice attempts at CYA.

But most of the world understands the intent . That is why the committee was so quick to apologize.

This is what I know I watched this opening ceremony as well as the ones in LA Beijing ;and,London ;and quite a few others. All the others shined a light on what they thought was the best of their culture. This one in Paris in contrast was a provocative mockery of French and Western Culture.

EXCEPT Celine Dion's superb rendition of Edith Piaf's "L'Hymne A L'Amour" from the Eiffel Tower .

That celebrated the best of France.

Interesting that in the painting, it is not sufficient to depict adults engaged in this lurid activity. No, the painter had to include children as well. I think that's where this is headed next. It's part of the reason for exposing 5 year olds to drag queen performances and for having porn in middle school libraries. The sex advocates want to get their hands on the kids.
