Here we go . I've had this debate now for 2 days . Yes after the fact it was revealed that it was not intended to be a depiction of the Last Supper but instead some vague Bacchanalia . That is nice attempts at CYA.

But most of the world understands the intent . That is why the committee was so quick to apologize.

This is what I know I watched this opening ceremony as well as the ones in LA Beijing ;and,London ;and quite a few others. All the others shined a light on what they thought was the best of their culture. This one in Paris in contrast was a provocative mockery of French and Western Culture.

EXCEPT Celine Dion's superb rendition of Edith Piaf's "L'Hymne A L'Amour" from the Eiffel Tower .

Interesting that in the painting, it is not sufficient to depict adults engaged in this lurid activity. No, the painter had to include children as well. I think that's where this is headed next.
