So,I've been crushing on this guy for ages and recent events have suggested he is decent enough to actually talk to me without being a total weiner like most boys my age (14)>We talk when we can, flirt a little and he even suggested I could hold his hand going on a scary ride .But out of all these events we haven't gone any further and I'm stuck in the 'friend zone'.So how do I get out of the friend zone and into dateable zone

Is he 14 too? If older, generally you have to accept the fact that he is going to date girls in his class. That's just the way peer pressure works, and it's one of the few good ideas about peer pressure.
If he's in your class and you haven't seen any obvious signs that he is hanging around one girl, then I would suggest that you tone down the flirting and increase the plain old conversation about life and events. Ask little questions about what he thinks, what he likes. Interest in someone is the number one way to compliment them and to let them know in a roundabout way that you like them a little extra. A lot of times we are so eager to keep it casual and light that we act flip. You can keep it light but serious at the same time when you say, hey, I like what you said in that class, or what's your favorite movie of all time, or do you know what you want to do after senior year.

He's going to be a senior this year? And what year will you be?
Have you tried any of my suggestions?

So you're 14 and he's probably 17? I'd be amazed if he wanted to cross into the boyfriend zone - that's a big age difference when he's a Senior in high school.
