    Medication Adjustment Needed
My friend is experiencing severe paranoia psychosis, due to her abuse of adderall. She is prescribed the drug by a physician, but is not taking the medication as prescribed. She literally believes any person that crosses her path is going to harm her. Her constant fear and paranoia has caused her to neglect her daughter. She has become very confrontational and aggressive. Her family has become frightened of her. Legally, can I or a member of her family contact the prescribing physician to express the concerns regarding her symptoms. She really should be in the hospital in order to get her medications adjusted accordingly.

If she's become a danger to herself or others (and it can be proven)... you can contact the authorities and she could be involuntaritly committed for treatment.

You can and should contact the prescribing physician as soon as possible. Would take the additional step of contacting the dispensing pharmacy. A call from them (to the doctor) may get quicker attention than from you.
