Children of opposite sex sharing a bedroom
It there a "law" that says children of the opposite sex cannot share a bedroom - in the United States of America, in your own home?

How old are the children? I would say puberty would end the idea of children not of the same sex sharing a bedroom together. No, I don't think there is any law, it is just common sense with a lot of decency thrown in.

A law? No, not in the US unless it's public housing.

Please post the law on this.

I can find nothing this specific UNLESS you are talking about public housing and, even then, this is not the age.

There are not "laws" there are rules and guidelines of "Children and Family Services"
There are rules and guidelines of "adoption agencies"
Also this is sometimes used in fighting for child custody in family court.

Not laws but rules that are enforced

I do find guidelines in some States, but these are not the ages. I do find the age of 7 if it is a foster situation.

Granted this issue is raised in divorces but where I am (NY) it's almost never a successful argument.

    Georgia is different?

Lisa, Let me reverse this by asking you why you are asking. Generally, people ask this question because they are facing a situation where they are worried about breaking the law.

As noted, I know of no civil or criminal law in the US that deals with this. However, many areas have guidelines about this under certain circumstances that you may have to deal with.
