    Changing landlords
I am getting ready to start taking over as landlord for my brothers rentals. I would like to send a letter out to the renters but I'm not for sure how to go about writing one?

Do you mean you will be managing your brother's rentals or the properties are being transferred to you?

If you are just going to manage them, then your brother, NOT you, send an notice to all tenants. Otherwise you just sen an announcement that effective x date you have taken over ownership and rent payments should be made to: xxx

You would need to make an amendment to the lease stating the new management terms concerning payment of the rent. Your brother would also have to verify that he is no longer managing the properties and state who is responsible for the deposits that were paid.

Why would the lease need to be changed or amended? No terms are being changed only where payments go. And, as I said, who sends the notice depends on whether ownership changed or just property management.
