    If I were you I'd tell them to give me one month of free rent for the hassle. Make them work to keep you.

    After the conversations I have had with them, they would probably be more than happy to just pay me my deposit and leave. I guess we have hassled one another equally. :-)

    I also don't think they understand what customer service is.

    You paid a deposit and it was apparently accepted. Even though they didn't sign their copy of the lease, the payment and acceptance could constitute execution of the lease. So if they can't fulfill the terms of the lease, you can back or or they need to compensate you.

    Thanks Scott, I will bring this point up and make sure either the original or the new lease is signed by both parties before I leave.

    You may have personally hassled each other equally, but in LEGAL terms they BREACHED their contract with you. You DIDN'T breach anything... As a result, you WILL suffer damages.

    Certainly, they'd like YOU to walk away. I would, ONLY if they compensate you for the hotel you're going to need in a few days. You can play hardball too, you know.
