    Changing bathtub water spout
I recently purchased a moen bathtub/shower faucet, showerhead & spout. I removed the old spout by just unscrewing from the tub. There was no set screw. It has a waterpipe attachment inside the spout. The new moen doesn't have the waterpipe attachment inside the spout. Can I purchase this attachment to work with the moen spout?

How long is the pipe coming out of the wall. If it is long enough you can just cut off the threaded adapter, slip the new tub spout on and tighten the set screw.

You bought a Moen slip fit spout and should have bought an IPS mount. Can you return it to the store?

Just the threaded part comes out of the wall, maybe an inch.

I probably can. I bought it at Home Depot. That will probably be the best thing to do. Thanks.

Just tell the guy in the plumbing isle to help you find a threaded spout rather than slip on. Many companies make the same spout in both versions
