The placenta comes AFTER the kittens. If there are no kittens then you HAVE to get her to a vet. There's a problem, and she could die if a vet doesn't see her. The kittens could be dead, or too big for her to pass. Get her to the vet, NOW!

But that's what I'm wondering, if that was a placenta? I know the baby's first but I'm really not sure what it was that she passed??

That's why you need to get OFF the computer and take her to the vet. We can't tell you what it was. It may have been a dead, malformed kitten. She needs to go to the vet, NOW!

Would you make a human mother in labor wait to go to the doctor while you went online to ask people what the bloody mass she passed, was? I doubt it. You'd be rushing her to the hospital. Give your poor cat the same consideration.

Wow, I asked a question to see if anyone else had any experience with this particular situation. If I thought at all that the cat was in distress or needed immediate veterinary attention, I would have driven the 2 hours it takes to get to our vet! I had made calls to two different vets we use and was waiting for a response, hence getting on the computer in the meantime.

The vet said she probably absorbed the kittens and that was the remainder or mummified kittens. She also added being that the cat was resting and not exhibiting any signs of discomfort or bad discharge, we shouldn't worry. My POOR cat DID NOT need to go to the vet, get off your soap box and have some consideration and common decency yourself

What?

You came here asking what was wrong, but now you claim that you already know, that you know the cat's fine, not in distress.

So why did you post?

You asked for help, and the only help that we can give you is to tell you to take your cat to the vet. If you don't want to hear it, fine, don't read the post, but that's the best advice you will get.

Cats die during delivery all the time. Five hours of labor, two bloody lumps, one of which she ate, and instead of getting in your car to drive to the vet, you went to the computer. What did you think we could do? We're not there. You are! You have a vet. Vets are trained to handle illness or emergency situations with animals, that's who you go to. You don't call and hope that your cat is still alive when they get back to you. You don't go to your computer and hope that someone will be able to help you through this. You go to the person with the training. The vet!

I don't understand some people. If one of my animals was sick, in trouble, I wouldn't log on to the computer, I'd haul a$$ to the vet. :(
