Does a baseboard heater need to be on its own fuse
I am going to be hooking up a 240 volt baseboard heater. Does it need to be on its own dedicated circuit to the fuse box and on its own fuse or can I take the power from a switch or receptacle elsewhere near by

Not by design or code, no.
There are some rules as to how many/much and what size circuit though.

If you can find a 120v BB heater it will most likely overload an existing circuit.
