Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this! I'll start by telling you the basics! 2 years ago when I was 16 I had severe abdomonal pain and was told after an ultrasound that 1 of the 3 cysts in my ovaries had twisted and was producing blood and that it would be best if it was removed.. because of the pain I didn't think to ask the consequences of this. It was removed however my tissue was damaged and I was later told that I had a very low percentage if any at all of falling pregnant!
Ive been seeing this guy now for a couple of months and over Halloween we had sex for the first time, completely unprotected I no it was stupid but pregnancy was the last thing on my mind because I was told I had no chance practically of it ever happening. My other half did not *** inside me, I no that the pull out method doesn't work anyway though it does lower the chances? Am I right? Along with my whole situation pregnancy didn't cross my mind...
My period comes regularly. Every 28 days without fail it's here as heavy and as painful as possible, id literally go through a pad every hour and it lasts for around 4-5 days.. My last period was 10th of October which would have made my next period due 7th November..
It didn't come! 8th November, didn't think anything of it so I had some more sex last night... I came home, went to the loo where I noticed some spotting.. literally 3 small spots of a really really light sort of red colour.. I assumed that this was my period starting as normal only a day late... I put my wee pad on go to bed and wake up this morning.. nothing on it... I assume its because I've been lying down all night so I go to college.. I check it every hour... nothing on it. Last hour of college and my head starts to spin and I feel sickish.. I start to wonder what's happening? Come home and I feel knackered so I climb into bed and wake up just now and I still feel tired...
I have no other symptoms and I haven't taking a HPTest for the simple reason I do not expect this to be actually happening...
What do you guys think?

I am really sorry that you had to go through the ordeal you did at 16. I would "think" that the procedure would lower your chances and if you don't want to be pregnant (as there could still be a possibility) take the birth control and get him to wear a condom (to prevent STI's). Pulling out does help but barely... there is always a chance... always... pre-ejaculation contains sperm.

Your period didn't come but you had spotting... this could indicate a delayed period or possible implantation bleeding and your having symptoms. This could be a number of things... it could be stress, PMS or pregnancy. Is it possible? I think so. Is it probable... with your chances being so low I honestly don't know, however... there is always a chance! I know you missed your period and had some spotting so you can take the test but it might not show up if it is so early... your symptoms only started a couple of days ago. Wait a week to 2 weeks before taking a test or another test... it will take a while for the test to pick up on your hormone levels. You may even have to wait until the first or second day of your next missed period. As it goes for the period... I am on the birth control and my periods are pretty regular but if I am stressed and my hubby and I are really active sometimes my period does funny things too like coming late/right away or less/more in volume. Halloween is now 11 days ago... which would be too soon to tell but if you continue to have unprotected sex... you could conceive later and then won't know when the appropriate time to take the test is... I would say wait until your next missed period and stay protected in the interim (make him wear a condom at least). If you would have posted this sooner you could have taken Plan B... but it is over 72 hours so it is too late.

If you don't want babies right now then take the birth control... don't always believe what the doctor's tell you... miracles happen! Be safe and responsible regardless!

Thanks for the information.. I don't mind if I'm pregnant or not.. I have a job and so does my other half.. we're happy and a baby would be great though I would prefer to wait until I get university out of the way and me and my other half are together for longer so I can be more financially supportive and can say I didn't rush things. It's just a scary thought when you've been told you have no chance and then out of the blue you think you may have. Ive been feeling nauseas for the past couple days now.. I don't no if it's a symptom or if I'm just stressing out.. which really isn't good because that can prolong my period longer... What are the other options other that condom on birth control pills and condoms as the pills make me sick (tried them for spots at one point and to try and reduce the size of cysts) and although this may sound irresponible when we're both in the heat of the moment, stopping to put a condom on is usually the last thing on our minds :S
What date would you reckon I take the HPT? And does it have to be 1st morning pee?

Honestly, I know you want University out of the way and after that maybe a house and stability before having a baby would be a good idea BUT there really isn't a convenient time to have a baby... especially if it's a miracle!! :) Usually it happens when we least expect it and when it happens you cope, find ways to make it work and are very happy. You can still have your goals and still pursue them, it might be a bit more challenging and find other alternatives to make it work but you can still pursue your dreams with a baby! You might not be pregnant though! It is a possibility I think... your still having periods and regular cycle.

Do you still ovulate? (Transparent whitish, not-smelly, watery discharge once a month during your cycle that is probably not very much in content)) and What are the complications if you do get pregnant? You might want to know a bit more about your body, possibilities and options or what to expect. Discuss this with your gynecologist or doctor.

I don't always trust what doctors say... not for certain things anyhow - they did say your chances are pretty much slim to none but I have seen people conceive when they where still at those odds... you should always be on the ball to prevent or be proactive in any health situation. If you do conceive now or in the future, you need to know the complications.

I know what you mean about "heat of the moment" but maybe put it on for him... do I really need to give you dirty ideas?? :rolleyes: Okay, you can pleasure him during the application with hand stimulation and/or you can open it, place on your lips (positioned correctly - direction (as if you are about to perform oral sex) (make sure that it is also in the position that it rolls on his ******* smoothly - with assistance from your hand) and get flavored/textured/colorful ones to make it fun.

For the test, in my experience... it won't matter... I would "suggest" doing it in the morning since you usually hold that one the longest... dribble some out and then release the rest of the urine on the HPT as directed on the instructions.

As it goes for "other natural types of birth control" I believe that there is hormone treatment and the sponge but I am not sure. Maybe someone else will have more information about this. I did add another birth control site (the second one) that does discuss these options.

I have literally had 3 tiny spots of blood which happened 2 hours after having sex and nothing else.. If I am pregnant then its great news, although I'm only 18 I'm a hard working if I do say so myself and with my chances being slim to none I would def not even think of getting rid of baby, I'll be keeping it all the way because my chances after that will still be low I'm assuming.. I still ovulate.. not smelly gooy clear stuff its just the egg has nowhere to attach to because my tissue is damaged.. I think that's what doc said, mother was taking more of it in than me I was too busy crying my eyes out when they told me ,16 or not its still devastating news! I've got myself a wee test now just haven't taken it yet.. I'm not even sure how to work it :S haha should be fun tomoro morn.. might leave it another wee week though to be sure my hormones and stuff have changed..

Haha, have fun doing so! :D So because of the damaged tissue then chances of attaching to the womb would be the issue... is it possible to have an Ectopic Pregnancy?

That Ectopic Pregnancy looks like a horrible experience and it is possible for me... I think! I've scared myself at the thought..

If my test comes back negative tomoro and my period still hasn't fully came by next week I think ill make a wee Apt with the Doc and see what's happening!

Heehe :cool:!! Glad you guys enjoyed it... it's a shot at safe but fun ways of having sex:p.

Seeing a doctor about it is the smartest thing you could do. We can guess and suggest all we want but a doctor can diagnose you. You know it may not even be pregnancy at all... you could just have a sensitive cervix (if it's only happening after sex) or some sort of a pelvic infection that can be medicated... don't stress. If your chances are low then it very well may be something else that could logically explain everything.

Go to the doctor to ensure nothing is wrong and they can advise you further on diagnosis. It's always good to know everything about your body so that is why I brought up Ectopic Pregnancies and things like that. Please update me! Hope this gets resolved right away.

Still haven't fully started my period though I'm still spotting the odd 3-4 drops of bood a day! Waiting on wee docs appointment but the ealiest I can get is next Thursday grrrr... will keep you informed xx

Yeah I know waiting really sucks - I have been there and done that AND I will probably be there again in the future if I don't get off the pill and on to something more reliable AND soon! Hehe!

Docs apt tomro... so altogether I've had 15 penny sized spots of blood on pads for a 5 days.. been feeling light headed and sick EVERY morning and around T time as well... my boobies arnt really sensitive however my nipples more sensitive but 2 HPT later I'm doubting I'm pregnant because they were both NEG. If I get a blood test how long does it take to determine if I am or not?

Blood tests are very accurate and can detect the hormones required to show up in the HPT test. You may have to wait longer... I hate to tell you that... again! I know the impatience; what happened at the doctors?

They took a urine pregnancy test and it came up positive.. I asked them to double and triple check because I was in a situation similar before. So they done a 2nd, it was negative... a third.. it was negative... Doc didn't understand so waiting on a blood test although its been explained to me that I may have had a miscarriage, that ectopic pregnancy was also explained to me along with just implantation spotting but short notice for a urine test.. so I'm waiting on blood test and depending on weather or not it turns out positive the doc will explain the next steps. :( x x x

What? Oh my goodness... so your 1st test came out (+) and test 2 and 3 came out (-)... that is really odd even in light of a possible miscarriage (I don't think you miscarried though - usually there is a bit more blood then a few spots - most women think it's their period and never actually knew they where pregnant in some cases)... spotting sounds like implantation bleeding but even then this spotting has been going on for a while and some women do have spotting throughout their pregnancies. This is definitely a hard one to judge... definitely let us know what happens on your blood test - an ultrasound wouldn't hurt either - not just for pregnancy but to see if there is any infection. I thought for sure that maybe you just had a sensitive cervix (spotting after sex). Whatever it is, you need to get to the bottom of it!
