Trane AC fan runs constantly on high in Auto Mode
I just had my Trane xl16i air conditioner unit replaced after being installed one year ago. It was leaking refrigerant and had to be recharged every other month so the dealer replaced the unit under warranty. The new unit cools perfectly but the problem now is that the high speed fan continues to run even after the desired temperature is reached and “cool on” remains displayed on the Trane thermostat even though the compressor isn’t running. Previously the fan would run for a couple of minutes when the compressor shut off and the “cool on” would disappear immediately. Now the fan stays on at high speed continuously, along with the “cool on” displayed even though the compressor is off. Besides the unnecessary noise this causes the house temperature has to increase about two degrees before the compressor comes back on. The dealer replaced the thermostat, even though it was only one year old, and it worked perfectly for about 3 hours but then went back to what I just described. The dealer will be back out next week but the technicians are shaking their heads. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

Thanks in advance for any help... Dan
