Recently I got a Contractor to change my Fuse Panel to circuit breaker.

How do I know he did it right?

Was there a permit pulled and did the building inspector come out and inspect, that would be your best clue? Does everything work correctly?

It has only been a day since he did the change.. For now everything is working fine.
No building permit was pulled that's how it cost me only 700$ to do it..
No inspector came out to inspect it..

Everything is working fine..

This is what he did..

1> Doubled or tripled all the outgoing ground.. when I asked he said it does not matter..
2> All white were connected on separate connectors..
3> All black were connected to independent circuit breakers
4> All the breakers were connected according to wire gauge code except one 12 gauge wire which he connected to a 15Amp breaker.. he did not say why... but I presume this is over conservative

What is the chance of posting some pictures, wide and close up of the inside of panel, outdoors, grounding wires and rods?

Can u explain what "rods" are.. I am not sure what u are talking about here?




No load was added.. just a fuse panel replaced with a switch board panel.. Input was a 100amp connection from hydro before and after the change..

I recently bought the place and afterwards realized there were some issues on the fuse panel.
I replaced it because most of the fuses were set at 20 amps even on 14 gauge wire.
A/C was already dead , when I tried to get a A/C company to install a/c they said the A/C circuit was overloaded with the basement Stove.. and they refused to install it until the fuse panel was replaced or overload corrected.

Both made me extremely uncomfortable.

He has been doing it for 25 years.. he did my neighbors 3-4 years ago no problems so far..
So at the least he is 3 years exp..

He was referred by my neighbours contractor who trust him to do all his electrical work..

The way he was working with the wires I can tell he does it day in and day out.. the only issue I have is he may have cut some corners.. If I know what then I can call him back to fix it...

You obviously do not know about this kind of work, which is fine.
If he knows what he is doing, and you call him back accusing him of cutting corners because of questions you asked on the internet, I would not expect him to work for you again.
