DO you think ill do any time in juvie?
Ok well.. I'm 17 and my situation is.. 2 years ago I was charged with aggravated burglary and I was guilty. But I've done community service and everything and I haven't been in trouble for awhile.. well this year I was charged with aggravated assault.. But it started with him calling me and my friends *N* several times but we kept ignoring him. Then about the third time he said it, he came up to us and pushed me.. at that moment I pushed him back and his friends started to come over towards us that's when I picked up a shovel and told him that if he didn't leave me alone I would kill him.. But I just want to know if the juvenile court will make me do any time for this because I really don't think I should be charged with anything.. I was just wanted him to leave me alone..

    *Edited for profanity*

Yes, I think you very easily can be charged. Hopefully everyone will give testimony and the Judge will rule in your favor. You will be asked why you just didn't leave, how many of "them," how many of "you," the circumstances.

In my opinion I think you should go get anger management counseling before going before the judge. That way he will see you were proactive in your situation, also do not have an attitude when going before the judge, be humble, appologize for your actions and make sure he knows you plan on never doing it again!

I had a friend who was charged with DUI and before he went before the judge he started going to AA meetings. The judge was so impressed he did not take his license away or fine him and he only did a couple months of community service. Show the judge that you are not a loser and that this was a one time thing and he might go easy on you. (By the way I was not saying that you are a loser, I have had people hassle with me and have lost my cool many times!)

I don't know how this works in your State but where I am - NY - any program to deal with the "problem" (if you are advising the OP to state that there is a problem and this was not self defense) HAS to be recognized by the Court.

The OP could - here in NY - attend anger management classes at an unrecognized facility and it would do him no good.

An Attorney can certainly recommend facilities and classes that are recognized by the Court - again, if the argument is going to be that this was caused by anger and not an attempt to defend himself.

But OP has to decide which way he (or his Attorney) is intending to argue the charges. This does sound - now that details have been posted - like a ganging up situation so I'm not sure of the best way for him to go at this time. I think he needs an Attorney, hopefully someone Court appointed.
