    6 month old has MRSA
    Im scared for her this is new to me how will her life be with MRSA will she have a normal life, children etc.

    Yes, I know your concern, as a healthcare worker in Ontario have already had some elderly clients with MRSA. The elderly are at risk for viral infections all the time in a hospital environment. Unfortunately that is the way it is now and all we can do is educate ourselves. I urge you to read the Mayo Clinc website before you become too upset at the outcome of your daughter having MRSA. She has a far better chance now, being young, then anyone else. Read the information provided. It is far better then I can ever explain and please discuss all possibilities with her doctor. The key words here are 'keeping clean and always washing hands after entering your house'. Not only for this, but for anywhere you go, touching anything in stores, door handles, anything.

    Where does she have it? Diaper area is common. If you just follow the doctor's orders and give her the medication EXACTLY as prescribed, there should be no problem.

    MRSA is a bacterial infection, not a viral infection as may be mistaken by the above post.

    I know the difference J-9. Very unfortunate words on my part. My mind is always with the elderly and their problems. Of course it is a bacterial infection.
