    Theft under $5000
    About a month ago now I was caught by sears walking out of the store with about 250 dollars worth of goods. I was caught by store security and placed under citizen's arrest and was told I was being charged with theft under $5000. The security officer told me he sent the information to the police and that I should be receiving a phone call within the next two weeks. It has been over a month now and other than a civil recovery suit from sears, I have received nothing criminally from the police. I live in Ontario, Canada and was wondering when I should be expecting anything criminal from the police and also what to expect whenever I do. I was released by the guard and not banned from the store or anything.

    You should have heard something by now although the only definitive answer would have to come from Sears.
