Are you saying that it comes on with pressure, then makes a noise and the pressure drops from the spout but not the spray? What type of faucet do you have? One handle or two knobs? What's the brand name? How old?
    Let me know. Regards, Tom

It comes on OK. Then you can hear a deep "pum" sound somewhere in the faucet, and the pressure drops on the spout not the spray. It's a moen. One handle. Should be 10 years old since the house was built in 1998. Thanks.

    OK Ciundy,
This,(see image)shbould be pretty close to what you have. I think the problem may be in the diverter located under the spout. Shut the water off an d remove the spout and diverter. Look for trash down there and clean up any crud. Before you button up ploace a pan over the faucet and turn the water back on for a few seconds to flush out the valve body. Reassemble and test. Ifc you still have a problem click on back. Good luck, Tom
