Since it is a basically a sexual dance, it is not something that would be answered in a "teen" thread

Just so we are aware, the OP hasn't posted in this thread since May... Thread is dead! However, lovebug, I have to address this...

Old enough to know what you are doing?

Are you old enough to raise a child?
Are you old enough to support a family? EVEN YOURSELF?

The argument is NOT whether you do it properly, it is whether you are ready for a child. Most teens aren't.

Lapdances lead to sex, sex leads to children, a teen with a child leads to a hard life (for mother and child). THAT is why lap dances are so bad for teens.

I am 16, by the way.

Haha you seriously need to calm down haha. Listen to yourself. Lapdances don't have to lead to sex if you know what you're doing. Teenagers aren't retarded. We know the consequences of our actions and we choose how we deal with those. LAP DANCES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HAVING CHILDREN. And I'm 17 by the way.. haha so maybe it takes a year to grow up?

Haha Unless it's at the strip club any lapdance will eventually open up new options and break old barriers and will in turn lead on to the thought process of "well sense we can so casually screw around with each other why can't we "casually" have sex." or maybe start with something of the type. But neither of you are 100% wrong be more open minded, for a lot of people it does lead to sex for a few it does not.

Before I start... thank you to Joe, I see that lap dances do not necassarily lead to sex, but most do, like you said. According to Dictionary.com (a reputable source), a lap dance is "an erotic dance" and erotic is "arousing or satisfying sexual desire."

First of all, I pointed out my age to prove that I am not biased, NOT to say that I am older, thus more wise...

Secondly, I never said that teenagers are reatarded... Remember, I am a teen myself.

Third, I am calm, I just feel strongly about certain things. I also do "listen to what I am saying" and it makes perfect sense in my head.

So, as you said, "LAP DANCES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HAVING CHILDREN."
Do you agree that a lap dance is a sexual dance?
Do you agree that a sexual dance would lead to sex?
Do you agree that sex leads to children?

How can you make such a statement? Please, explain it to me. I am open to changing my opinion anytime, but only if I am provided with decent evidence that I am wrong.

    Also,

What I noticed was "teens can be sexual too."
Sure, they can be. But are they willing to face the consequences? You can't possibly tell me at 17 that you are ready for a child. And I realize there are ways of being sexual that don't involve actual sex, but it does lead to it. And again, sex leads to children.

Haven't you ever done anything in the "heat of the moment," then regreted it? Something sexual (like a lap dance) can put you in that moment of heat, and then you could have sex, WITHOUT considering the risks.

    Back to the other quote,

I also noticed, "we know the consequences of our actions and we choose how we deal with those." Again, you know how to deal with children? I really doubt that.

    And,
"haha so maybe it takes a year to grow up?"
    That just isn't needed.

    Okay... Lovebug...

Seriously, do you have something against me?

You have reddied me already once today, and you disagree with everything I say.

EVEN when I say sex may not be a good idea for teens, you disagree. I just went through your profile, and the threads you've started. One of them titled, "I don't know if im pregnant." YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THE RISKS! AFTER A PREGNANCY SCARE!

Some quotes from your other thread:

-Don't sound too happy, or ready to raise a child. Even you blame it on the age.

I thought teens were aware of how to DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES, and you can CHOOSE how to do so. Doesn't sound like you're ready to make such a decision.

It doesn't sound like you learned much through your expirience. After all that, you still think sex between teens is okay. Really?

You, and most teens, ARE NOT ready to raise a child on their own. SO, something like a lap dance, which could lead to sex, which could lead to CHILDREN is BAD. Okay? Don't I make sense?

And please, sit down, and think, and learn from your mistakes. I really feel sorry for you because of the situation you're in. I am sorry to bring it up, but I just need to know if, for any reaon, you just don't like me. It just shows your desire to disagree with me so clearly.

    SO,
Do you understand my points here?
    And, do you dislike me?

    Huh...
I started ripping you apart for no reason? I ripped your opinion apart because I disagree with it, and think the advice would be wrong.

You keep saying I say things when I don't even say them!
When did I say, "Sex ALWAYS leads to children?"
When did I 'act' like people only have sex to have children?
I never said/acted like these things. Stop putting words in my mouth.

I think sex should only be between two consenting adults who COULD take care of a child IF the women became pregnant.

I know sex doesn't ALWAYS lead to children. BUT, no method of birth control is 100% effective. Why would you want to risk all that?

I am happy to hear you aren't pregnant, but you didn't come out of that situation feeling differently? AND THEN, you say you KNOW how you are going to deal with the consequences, EVEN THOUGH, you said you weren't ready in your other thread...

And as cliché as it sounds, I "ripped you apart" because I care. I may not know you, but I care. I have a 19 year old cousin who accidentally became pregnant. She had to drop out of college, and now HER parents have to be parents for another 18 years. She also lives in their basement. You demonstrating the mind set that my cousin has scares me, so I tried to help.

No offence, but I find it hard to believe that I am talking to a 17 year old. The responses I get from you are pointless, and make no sense. And the way you use reddies is also inexusable, (IN MY OPINION). So, I don't see any point in continuing this argument. You are probably just going to talk in circles. So, hate me, I really don't care. I just sincerely hope you learned from your pregnancy scare, and are just being stubborn here on this forum. You could really help others on this forum with your expiriences.

I have no interest in discussing this any further. Hopefuly I'll see you around the forums here, you could help a lot of people. You have something many teens don't, EXPIRIENCE. Use it to teach and help others, but first, you have to learn from it first.

Your making false accusations, you obviously could never know anythinig about anyone's life beyond what they tell you on this forum. Also your saying this in a terrible format in an attempt to nullify the fact based points JRSG has made. So let's all grow up a little and stop hijacking a thread with flames. EVERYONE can have a different perspective and as this is an adult forum we should act accordingly.

For all you know he might have a more sexually active life than you. But being safe should have a lot to do with any level headed decision you make about sex. So when we go into these threads we all need to have an open mind and realize that many people here have gone through the EXACT things were asking questions about and maybe sense were in a help forum they might have more insight on certain subjects.

So can some one please lock this thread if this continues.

    Thanks, Joe...
A mediator was definitely needed here, and its good you were here to play that role, thank you for that.

I just get so frustrated when people don't answer my questions, and come back at me by saying things like, "at least I have a life" or "Hurry! Defend yourself," for examples in that last post. As much I as would love to continue trying to explain my point of view, I know it won't work. She says, "why did you feel the need to correct me?" Even though I already explained why in previous posts. That is what I mean by talking in circles. It is confusing, frustrating, and almost enraging to a point. And her outright laughing at my opinions... I don't know what to say about that.

This will be my last post on this thread. Thanks again, SimpleguyJoe.

And Lovebug, I still hope you stick around to tell your stories and share your expiriences with others who need the help. I can't believe I am saying that, but your experience is extremely valuable. Sure, I disagree with your opinion, but I won't try to devalue your expirience.

    See you around...
