    Driver side front power failure
I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. I took off the fron driver door panel to spary sylicone on the window track runner bacasue it was sqeeking and getting stuck. I reconnected the plug to run the window up and down to get it fully lubricated and the window worked great. I then disconnect the plug to put back on the door panel and reconnect all the plugs for the window, door lock etc. Now non of the buttons work. I have no power windows, no power door lock. Basically everything connected to the drivers door in not working. I checked fuses and they are good. Anyone have ideas or the fix for me? My front drivers window is currently down and staying there until I can this fixed. I appreciate any help!

Sorry, but the silicone spray really did a number on the power console for the windows and the door locks. Your only remedy would be (unfortunately) to replace the entire shebang (which is not cheap). Did you reconnect the right wires also?

I believe I connected the plug wires correctly. The plugs are colored coded to match both the male and felmale ends.

I would take the door back apart and make sure that all the wiring is properly connected.

This- Reconnecting the wires is not going to solve the problem. What part of color coded male and female can you possibly get wrong? He connected everything up back again.

My mother's 1976 Ford Elite would eat power window motors like crazy due to the humidity in Florida. She would have the window unit professionally serviced. Your Tahoe just couldn't withstand that silicone spray on the area. Happens all the time. Silicone is not a good idea to use in areas like this.

If the OP didn't reconnect the harness completely, it may have disconnected during reassembly.

Only if the OP was spraying down the switch itself. Using silicone spray on a sticky track is not going to affect the function of the switch.

The electric motors are NOT sealed by the way and it does not take much to have them go bad. He could have also gotten some of the spray on the nylon clips as well.

Nobody said anything was sealed, which by the way, a motor IS. He didn't say he sprayed down the motor, he said he sprayed down the track on the regulator that the window runs in.

Try spraying electrical contact cleaner on the switches to clean off the silicone.
