Matifi - First of all get some white tape that you can write on , you will use this to mark all your wires comeing down to the heating coils. Now pull the dryer out from the wall and unplug the elect cord, now get either a #2 phillips screw driver or it may be a 1/4" nut head on the screws holding the back cover of the dryier on , remove all the screws around the outside edge of the panel cover, now before you start pulling wires off take and mark on the tape where each wire goes to , you will also have some wires comeing off the out side of heating unit they hook to small blocks this is the high temp. and the low temp mark them also ( NOW ARE YOU REPLACEING THE WHOLE HEATING SECTION OR JUST THE PART THAT HAS THE HEAT ING ELEMENTS COILS THAT ARE INSIDE THE duct. Take out the screws that are holding the duct to the dryer You may have to remove the top outside panel to get to the higher screws, If you do take a common screw driver or a butter knife to get it pulled up put what you are going to use under the front edge of the top and gently raise it up, after you get the duct out take the screws holding the heat element in it and then pull it out of the duct::: now to put it back togreather again just reverse the procedures I've just written , just rememberHow all the wires hook back up . While you have the back panel off ,get a vac. And clean all the lint youi can out from inside the dryer. A lot of home fires are caused by the lint build up inside of dryers. After you are done double check the wireing ,( WE Don't WANT A FREE HAIR CURLING ) > IF YOU NEED MORE HELP COME BACK ON THIS POST :: Good Luck and GOD BLESS> F.B.E.

Those were great directions and an answer to your specific question. Have you verified that you are getting 240 volts at the receptacle, how about at the connection to the elements? Before you replace an element you need to verify if its really shot. Maybe you'll luck out and find only 110 v or no power at all.
