You can tell anything from 16weeks but the best time to tell is 20weeks this is why your offered a scan at 20weeks!
I really want to know what I'm having also, I feel like I'm having a boy but won't know till 20th feb which is when my 20week scan is xx

Melissa is absolutely right. Ultrasounds can detect the sex of the fetus between 16 - 20 weeks, with 20 weeks being the best gestational age to detect sex.

Women have been breastfeeding since the dawn of time. And they had kids young then. So yeah. Breastfeed.

Thank you I have always wanted to breastfeed because it's a closer bond between you and your baby.. I've just never known a lot of teens who breastfed!!

Yeah, of course check with your doctor and what not. Just in case you are on meds or whatever. But age-wise you should be good. :)

Yeah I'm a guy answering this but I'm a daddy too

If you can, do it. Its not only a bonding experience with the child, but its great for the baby physically. It kick starts their immune system. There are so many health benefits. My wife LOVED the connection she had with her baby when breastfeeding.

One thing to think about... again, funny from a guy I suppose... get an electronic breast pump. It's a life saver. It allows you to pump when you are "full" and the baby isn't ready to nurse. It was the single best thing we bought when preparing for the baby.

Any woman who has suffered through mastitis can tell you how painful it can be. Obviously, I cant... but I can tell you my wife had it once, was miserable, and then after the pump, never again.

You can freeze the milk and store a reserve... this is great when others are watching your baby or, again, baby is hungry but you aren't ready.

By an electric one. We got one that had been used but cleaned and sterilized at a local midwife clinic. Was about $200 or so. Might sound steep... but again, of all the things we bought, dollar for dollar, that kept my wife healthy and let her pump when she needed to and the baby wasn't there (at work for ex).

    My 2 cents.

If you want to breastfeed, go for it! Check with your doctor to make sure, like mafiaangel180 said. Breastfeeding can be a great way to bond with your baby. I'm sure the doctor can give you more information. I know the hospital here in the town where I live has classes for pregnant women about breastfeeding. Good luck and hope your pregnancy goes well! :)

There are lots of benefits to breastfeeding. :D

You may not know of a lot of teens who do it because of various reasons. Lots that I've known didn't simply because they had busy schedules (some in school) that made it difficult. It's a personal choice but your age has nothing to do with it.

    Feeling the baby!
I'm going to be 17 weeks on Thursday I have been feeling the baby move.. it feels like butterflies in my tummy all the time!! All during the day.. this is my first pregnancy! And I was underweight starting! 5 "5 and at 110 lbs!! My question is if I'm feeling the movement and I have been feeling it for about a week and a half! So how long should it take until I start feeling the kicking..

I don't really know what you mean, but being underweight doesn't make the baby grow any faster if that's what you mean.

The average week of gestation to feel the baby move is 20 weeks. Every woman is different. Some women who are very tiny feel it about 18 weeks, yet others not until 25 weeks.

It is all individual. You will know when you feel that baby kick.

Being underweight does not mean you will feel it sooner, it just means that you were underweight.

I hurd differently from doctors... saying when you are underweight.. the baby has less room to grow! If you no what I mean.. compare to the women who are average size or bigger they have a harder time feeling the movements because the baby still has lots of room to grow.. now do you no what I mean?
