Who decides the 4-star etc movie ratings? Are they polled? Is there some super movie board? It can't be on attendance, can it!
Also--how come it says Times Roman here, and color, but that's not what appears? :o :o

Thanks ScottGem--are these newspaper, magazine, radio and TV reviewers? How do all the reviews get funneled into the great I am of ratings?

Each reviewer assigns its only rating to a movie. I've seen movies get anywhere from 2.5 to 4 stars from different reviewers. The movies will, of course, play up the favorable reviews in ads.
