    Ratings...
    Hello:

I'm relatively new here, and I'll bet you've had this discussion before... But, I don't want to look it up.

The ratings (or whatever they're called), suck. I always new it. I just didn't want to rock the boat.

It's the agree or don't agree thing. A newbie (on this site) recently said, what I've always wanted to say, but didn't because (as you know), I'm very shy...

He didn't agree with post above his. Having only two alternatives, he picked the one most suited to his opinion, and was roundly chastised for it. He wasn't wrong. Neither was the chastiser. So, it's got to be the rules, or the software. I don't know which. It doesn't work very well.

Of course, I only make this criticism because I like it here, and want it to be the best... Plus, I never could keep my mouth shut…..

    Haha, yep.

Suffice it to say it's not perfect (I think all will agree), but at least it's experienced a few levels of improvement in the past year (I think/hope all will agree).

Hi, This question is not whether you like the ratings system, but rather, how do you use it? ScottGem and SESaskDFC use "disapproval" ratings, to show their concern over either a bad answer, incorrect answer, or their opinion on an answer. I have observed that most members here at this...
