Hot but no cold water to washing machine
My washer will only fill up with hot water even though I have it on warm. When I try to turn on cold, water does not flow. I've taken off the hoses and run water through them thinking they were clogged but they're fine. I've turned on faucets that lead to washer and water comes out fine. I recently installed the new type of hoses that prevents damage in case of freeze but they worked before so I'm pretty sure it is not the hoses or water line at this point. I've checked all of the things the manufacturer states to check so now I'm at a loss (financial if I have to call in a plumber to fix). Any suggestions?

There are solenoids on the valves for both hot and cold. A small electric current is sent to the solenoid to open the valve. I think your cold water soenoid is shot or sticking. Open the back of the machine and follow the incoming water lines, the solenoids are not right at the hose fittings usually.

Have you checked for rust and debris inside where the hose connects to the machine?

Take cold hose off on back of washing machine and check the screen for debris.

Rust and debris could knock down the water pressure but it is rare to tootally, 100% block all water but worth checking. I still am thinking solenoid fill valve.
