    I am changing my condenser fan motor single phase 203v 230v . It only has 2 wires tha
    I am changing out my condenser fan motor single phase 203v 230v 2 wire motor. The 2 wires go to l1 l2 on my contactor. The motor I got is a 3 wire single phase 203v 230v motor. It has a brown purple and black wire my new capacitor is the same as the old one and it is a single. Where does the brown wire go or can I just leave it off and hook it up like old motor.

    See this video. Disagree with statement that you must use a dual capacitor. To use a single capacitor you would only have to add an extension to capacitor common wire (in his case the yellow wire) and connect that wire to both the capacitor and the contactor
