    I need to replace an old diverter stem Nomix 5400822. They are $70.00 each I need one
    Old Nomix 5400822 diverter stem I need to replace 20 in this apartment building. They are $71.00 each can I buy them somewhere cheaper

    Take one to Home Depot. Or Loews, or any appliance store for that matter.

    Looking at John's link and it sure looks like Mixet cartridge to me. Home Depot sells Mixet cartridges for around $20.00 each. Call them up and verify

    @ John: Absolutely, free is better than paying for it. Also, it challenges the manufacturer to live up to his warranty.

I am replacing seats and stems in tub/shower. The old one is Sterling--the new faucet set it a PricePfister. The PF diverter stem doesn't fit into the seat (the hot and cold stems do). Can I go to another size diverter with PF?
