Where do I get old seat and stems for an old shower?
Old shower does not have standard seat or stem. Need replacements instead of replacing the whole thing. Can't afford it right now.

Home Depot or Lowe's' is as good a place as any. Even plumbing supply houses don't carry as much of the old stuff as they use to. Show picture of valve.

I suggest you go to an old, neighborhood plumbing store. Usually, they carry replacement parts for old or discontinued plumbing fixtures.

Removing old stems in shower [ 1 Answers ]

There is a leak in the wall behind our shower. The handyman couldn't remove the existing handles to fix it because he said the stems had been glued to the handles. What should we do? This house is over 30 years old. You can physically see the glue in and around the handles.
