I am in the process of removing an existing shower tray. I am having difficulty in removing the drain. It does not appear to screw in. I have access to from below if I need to cut pvc pipe. This appears to be the only thing keeping my tray in place at this time.

I know some of you will get a chuckle from this question, but how do you remove the control knob from a Price Pfister three knob shower valve? I've removed the center screw and when I grasp the knob, the valve still turns/pulls/shakes. Do I need a special pry-off tool? Thanks!
