EB15B Coleman Evcon in mobile home hall. Which way does the filter go?
I have this heater in our new to us 1970 mobile home. Never used this kind of heat before, always used wood. The air blows up out of the top of this thing and blows out of vents as well in the floor. When I moved in the filter was with the arrow up, I replaced it the same way.
Weatherization came out, (bless their hearts) and weatherized for us. When they were out, they turned the filter the other way and said that the arrow was suppose to go the way the air flows. Well the air flows out, not in and my son and I have developed a very dry cough. I went again to purchase the best filter there was and was told the filter needs to go the other way. Could someone tell me how this filter is s
suppose to go in the top of the furnace?

This new filter says along side this arrow, "to properly install air filter, insert into system with the arrow pointing towards the blower motor."
Well the motor is on the bottom of this unit so I would assume the arrow goes down. But the air blows out the top. I am confused about this too.How can the air blow out and then out the vents in the floor too? Isn't it suppose to suck air in and blow out the vents in the floor?

I feel so stupid asking this but just don't know what I am doing and people make mistakes so wondering if the blower is not right or something. (weatherization didn't do anything with the blower or heater) Just told me which way the filter should go. Now that we have developed this cough it got me really wondering. I just spent $20 on this filter so want to make sure it is in right and functioning properly for health and other reasons.

    Thank you so very much.

Filter normally goes next to the air handler in the cold air return. In this case the arrow points to the heater. If it is situated after the air handler, the arrow
    Points away from the heater.
