Why does water in my sink turn black
When we put dishes, utensils, and plastic containers in our sink and leave them for the night, the water looks like it is turning black and the smell is like really bad

Hi Possum
Do you have a garbage disposal connected to your sink, and does the dishwasher (DW) make a direct connection to it under the sink? If you have a disposal and the DW connects to it then I suspect that either the DW discharge hose has fallen to a place below the disposal connection for the DW allowing sink water to drain into your DW, OR your kitchen sink drain line is getting blocked and the dirty water is falling into your DW.
Check into this and post back with results, OK?

I have to say that I don't understand either : If the water is sitting in the sink all night with the stopper in the drain it would have to be that the water itself or something in the sink is causing the problem.Could it be that something is attacking the metal utensils .If it was dirty water from the dish washer, the dish washer would have to be running for water to come into the sink.

OK,
Are you leaving the dishes sitting in water or is the water appearing over night?
Are you in an individual house or are you in an apartment with someone living above you?

Please help. Need to turn off water under sink.

Hi. My kitchen sink has a clog. I tried to use Drano. But it only worked enough to let the water drain very slowly. So I have not used the sink at all. However, now it seems to be clogged again. And like I said, I have not used it at all. The big problem here, is that the washer needs changing, so...
Hot water can't turn off at bathroom sink. Moen.

We can't turn off the hot water at the sink. We have a Moen faucet that is 16 1/2 years old, single spout, two separate handles. We've had to replace these darn faucets in the past (via an out of town parent, now elderly, or a plumber, who I pray we don't need.), but I don't remember if that is one...

The hot water valve under kitchen sink won't turn off the water. There's another line connected to this line with an additional valve & turning that does nothing. Cold water value shut off works.

Hello.
First off, I know NOTHING about plumbing.
Anyway, our kitchen sink has been acting up recently. When we first turn on the water after it has been off for a while, the pressure is low. Then suddenly, it kicks in to normal water pressure after say... 15-30 seconds after the water...
