Hi,
They do not always simply line up because the pawls on the flywheel interfere with the cogs on the pulley. Try holding the starter in line with where it goes and pull the rope out a bit to move the pawls and allow it to seat. Peace, Clarke |

I replaced the pull cord on a Toro 724 snowthrower and screwed the recoil assembly back on to engine several times but cannot get it to recoil. I tried putting assembly back on with the two "keys" extended and inserted back into unit. No luck Thanks, Gordon
I was reinstalling the pull cord on the chainsaw because it broke.. when putting the pull chain and assembly back on the saw the cord will not recoil back when pulling it out. I see there is a coil underneath the assembly but how do you reset it so that it works right? Advise - thanks - Phil

I have small gas edger that the cord will not retract back inside. I would like to try and fix it myself, but I have no experience with this sort of thing. So I need some simple steps to possibly get it repaired, hoping maybe I need to just rewind it.. I one that like to see how things are made...
I just tried to start my machine and I puled the cord out and it didn't recoil back in.. I wored on it to try to get it fixed but it just won't recoil.. Any ideas or suggestion would be great! Thank you
