    Homelite Electric Trimmer
I have an electric Homelite 5 amp 15" weedeater. This is the second one I've used in the past month. Both have quit running on me in mid-use. Why?

    Hi,
Are you using a heavy enough extension cord/? Too long a lightweight cord will have voltage drop that causes the machine to pull too many amps in an attempt to function.

With the first Homelite weed eater purchased, I used a 25' heavy duty cord for outdoor use. It lasted 20 minutes. That one was returned & exchanged for a new one. I then used a 100' 12 gauge cord and got 3-4 hours of use out of it before it also stopped working.
