Get her out more for more exercise, you may notice a difference.

How long is she in the kennel 'when you can't take her with you'? Seven month old dog should be pretty well set in her potty habits by now if she were trained properly. Pits are pretty smart for this type of discipline.

Sounds like separation anxiety! Dogs will display these types of behaviors when left alone.

This is a disease that has a potential of becoming worse.

A 7 month old puppy should be able to do well in a crate long term.

During the day when she is left home, leave the TV on or the radio on. Before you actually leave her home alone like this, do practice runs. Put her in her kennel around the time you normally would and do some house work. Walk in on her every so often without really talking to her. Keep the TV on or a radio on. She should learn that the sound of the TV or radio means that you are home, but she can't see you.

Lots of dogs suffer from separation anxiety. The key to success is to not give into it. Dogs are pack animals and are happiest when in a group. They have a hard time understand that humans need to go to work or just want "me" time. Its something you have to train your dog... confidence boosting helps a lot with this. Obedience should be a priority with a young dog. Basic manners such as sitting, laying down and walking well on a leash are key to a well-rounded dog.

Exercise is also a must. Pitties are not known to be a high energy, high drive breed, but they still need adequate exercise. Just think of it like this... would you be happy locked up in the house 24/7? No, you'd go bonkers too. Maybe more frequent trips to the dog park, longer walks.. maybe even look into doggy daycare 1 or 2 times a week.

The type of separation anxiety your dog is showing is easy to manage. But you don't want it to progress to the destructive type. Nip it in the bud now and start getting into the habit of more exercise and some alone time for your pup.
