Repacing a fuse in an old turntable
    Hi,

I am replacing the fuse inside an old Garrard Record player, and was looking for some advice!

The fuse removed has "F315mA/250V" on it, but there is a sticker inside the turntable at the fuse with"50mA" on it. What size of fuse should I get?

    Thanks!

The safe thing would be to go with the 50 mA version, as you probably don't know why someone may have installed a 315 mA fuse. However in my opinion there is very little risk with a higher rated fuse - a short in the power supply will likely draw a lot more than 315 mA and should trigger a fuse rated at 315 mA.

This begs the question as to why you need to replace the fuse in the first place? Any idea why it blew?

I'm not sure the reasons it blew previously, it was my uncles and the opportunity to ask isn't there sadly (though I don't think it had anything to do with the turntable!)

I presume they maybe thought the same and didn't have a 50mA lying around spare and just went with the bigger one! I'll go with your advice and get a 50mA.

    Thanks!
