Can a I sue my ex fiancé for calling the cops and basically having me thrown out?
Ok me and my ex man dated for over two years he proposed and we where engaged for almost two years. He was nuts! One Thursday I went to my moms for dinner and watch a ball game and he shows up freaking out and told me he was done. I went to our house (we rented from his grandparents neither of use signed a lease) the next day he finally let me in I started getting all my things he threw a huge fit. He called his grandma and the cops. Cop came told me to get my things and made me leave. At that time I was the only one working and I paid for everything. Didn't know I had 30 days didn't know any of my rights. Could I sue him and his grandparents? Plus the following Monday he tried hanging himself called me told me his plans I walked in and cut him down called the cops and he went to the mental ward for a few days.

Did they tell the police that you were a trespasser?

If they didn't tell them something materially false, no you couldn't sue them. You might, however, sue the officers, if you can prove that you suffered financial damages from being ejected.

I would say you have a better case against the police officers, assuming you told the officers you lived there and that was your home.

Yes. His grandmother called the cops and said the I broke in I was trespassing and stealing. He let me in and then wouldn't give me my stuff that is collecting and keep trying to make me leave. They told me they had called the cops so I sat down and said I'd wait for them.

So you showed the police your drivers license with that address on it, you were allowed in, you got a house bill showing you were paying the bills, the police should have left you in
