My unaltered male boxer is peeing everywhere!
My unaltered boxer who is 4 years old recently began peeing on everything from furniture to clothing in the past week. I recently noticed other behavior problems such as more cuddling and him being more protective of me than normal. I want to say he's very clingy now. I recently had a miscarriage and was wondering if he is sensing this or can tell my hormone changes? How can I stop him from these behaviors?

Cesar Millan would tell you that your emotional and hormonal state does affect your dog. Any other changes in the home like a new guest or other pet? I would have the vet run a test for any possible urinary infection and, unless you are a breeder, I'd suggest you consider neutering him. Until this is resolved you need to treat him like a untrained pup and crate him. I don't think this is a situation of retraining him since he was previously house trained, they don't just forget that, something triggered this behavior.

Cesar might also say that these are typical efforts of a male dog to 'mark' his territory. Your own hormonal state, as well as any 'new' female smells wafting on the breezes outdoors may have piquéd his basic instincts and his urinary markings are typical.

This sort of behavior, or rather the prevention of it, is another reason people have their male dogs neutered at a much younger age. My suggestion is to consult your vet for his ideas on an approach to the behavior, while you are at the vet's for reasons Ballengerb 1 has suggested.
