Amana 95IIQ Furnace Stage 1 Issue
Hi, I have an Amana 95IIQ furnace and a Filtrete CT50 thermostat. I connected W1 and W2 cables on both furnace and thermostat and I do not have any jumpers between them. The furnace is ignoring the thermostat's programming which should switch to stage 1 when temperature is within 2F of target. It instead runs initially on stage 1 and then switches to stage 2 after about 10 minutes until the target temp is met. This is making the house temperature very uncomfortable. I see a number of dip switches on the circuit board of the furnace but don't know what each does.

I am having a Goodman 90,000btu 2 stage, variable speed 5 ton blower furnace put in. I am also have a 3 ton 16 seer A/C put in. They want to set me up with a Honeywell 4000 programmable thermostat. I thought that I read that this thermostat was for single stage heating. Am I getting short changed?...
